Ana Gonzales bio
Ana Gonzalez de Jorgenson is Mexican-born musician born into a family of musicians. As a child, she was exposed to many traditional music as well as older boleros. In addition, she was a fan of the traditional romance ballads as well as ranchero. Ana loves tangos as well opera and dramatic performances. Her mother teaches her how to sing, but she started more intense vocal training through Flavio Belcerra, who was 16 at the time when Belcerra was an internationally acclaimed Mexican opera tenor. She studied in Guadalajara at the School of Music of University of Guadalajara before moving on to Toluca in Toluca at the School of Sacred Music. She sang in Guadalajara, Mexico City and various cities while a scholar and professional. After moving from Mexico to the United States around 2000, she performed with the Fort Lauderdale Symphony Chorus. She is currently a member of Ensemble XXI of Redlands and often performs as a soloist with traditional Latin American music at private events. Her passion for singing, music and the arts keep her involved in local activities for both an artist as well as a educator. Ana was also a member of both the Community Chorus of Redlands and Inland Master Chorale. She is currently a teacher of the Performance Loft. Ana hopes, with her performance songs from Latin American traditional songs, to instill a passion, particularly in the younger generations to keep this tradition vibrant.
